HSG-IMAT: Competence in Micro Assembly Technology
The institutes of the Hahn-Schickard-Gesellschaft are competent forerunners in the field of micro system technology.
The Hahn-Schickard-Institute for Micro Assembly Technology (HSG-IMAT) has its origin in the clock technology. Due to the decreasing demand for clock technologies the institute changed its orientation in 1998 to the field of assembly and packaging for micro systems and miniaturized systems.
Thereby system carriers based on injection moulded parts with small circuit paths, so-called Moulded Interconnect Devices, play a key role in HSG-IMAT´s research.
In addition, HSG-IMAT uses its portfolio of new plastics based assembly technologies for well-directed development of innovative components and systems.
Innovative companies trust us with their research and development tasks as well as with their new product ideas. We solve the tasks in successful partnership. So our R&D business with industry has tripled in the last 10 years. This success is not without its reasons which are:

We not only generate projects from our own scientific work, but also pick up problems and develop solutions in a team. Together with our customers, our experts verify the feasibility, develop supported by simulation calculations, build and validate prototypes, and organize the series production. We feel obliged to meet our customer’s expectations regarding the quality of our results as well as cost and time schedules.
